National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children - September 12, 2020
September 12 was the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children. Memorial services were held in various places around the nation. This local event was held at Sandia Memorial Gardens and hosted by Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico. Speakers included Fr. Stephen Imbarrato from Life Ministries U.S. and Pastor Luis Garcia of Praise and Worship Center. Several local pro-life candidates were asked to speak.
Michelle Garcia Holmes (for Congressional District 1) spoke about her commitment to do all she can to end the slaughter. Lisa Meyer-Hagen (for NM Senate District 12) powerfully reminded us that life is the very first of our unalienable rights. Dinah Vargas (for NM House District 10) is a passionate defender of life. Manuel Lardizabal (for Senate District 26) gave a prayer.
Mary Ingham was asked why she agreed to speak at the memorial. She responded, “Only because it is a sadness that touched my life because I had an abortion in college. I would like people to know that God can forgive them like He forgave me. I want to prevent them from making that choice that leads to such heartache. There are alternatives.”
